Resilience

Texas Tech?

Resilience emphasizes how individuals and families, businesses and organizations, social, and civic changed and adapted to meet the challenges of new conditions.

Often factors outside the control of the people demanded that lives and practices be changed.  For instance, drought, fluctuation in commodity prices, wars and depression required that West Texans adjust of leave.

The changes wrought by the Twentieth Century are reflected in large and small ways.  The encounters which young men from the country experienced as they fought in this nation’s war from home helped shape the “flavor” of the region.
